Land and Water Conservation Fund

Self-Inspection

If you have ever received funding from the Land & Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), you may have been directed to this Internet website. If so, please read the information carefully--you are now an important partner in our efforts to continue funding of this crucial program. The National Park Service, which provides federal oversight, requires each state to conduct periodic audits of their LWCF sites. Future availability of federal funding for the State of New Hampshire is dependent upon meeting this requirement in a timely manner.

New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation is requesting your assistance in this audit by completing the self-inspection form for each of the LWCF sites in your community. We would appreciate your prompt attention to this site audit request.

In the past, the division has verified compliance by completing periodic site inspections. Due to the growing number of LWCF sites that must be inspected, and the reduced staff and resources available to the State, it has become necessary to develop a new approach to post-completion certification.

The new Self-Inspection Form includes the same type of project information that previously was collected by State inspectors at each LWCF site every five years. Today, however, the project sponsor completes the information. The sponsor simply answers the questions as honestly as possible, attaches photographs, and sends the form back to the address provided in a reasonable period of time.

Please complete your self-inspection form and return it to this office within 30 days. Sponsors will not be able to apply for future funding until the forms have been received by our office. If you should have any questions regarding the form or the project, please feel free to contact Shari Colby at (603) 271-3556.

Thank you for becoming a partner in support of the Land and Water Conservation Fund!
